This XML Validator tool was developed by the REBEC registry of clinical trials as a collaboration project between ICTRP and the REBEC. The purpose of this tool is to allow ICTRP and the registries to validate their XML files against the XSD data elements definitions. Reports generated by this tool can be used only by ICTRP and the primary registries in the ICTRP Network.
Files processed by this validator contain public information that is already published on the registry website before being sent to the ICTRP. The error reports created by the validator will be automatically deleted when the website is closed.
How to use this validator
- Select your file: Click the "Choose File" button below to upload your monthly clinical trials XML export.
- Run Validation: Click "Run Validation" to process the data against the current ICTRP XML Schema Definition (XSD).
- Review Results: Valid trials will appear in the "Success" tab, while structural errors or missing data will be detailed in the "Invalid" tab.
- Download Reports: Use the download button provided after validation to export the error log (CSV) for any invalid records.
